I have a confession to make. I am obsessed with Uggs.
I know they’re basic, I know they’re boujee, but there’s something about slipping my feet into those big ole fuzzy boots that just makes me feel so cozy and happy! But let me tell you, those puppies do not come cheap.
So as much as I love Uggs, I’ve had to explore some budget-friendly alternatives over the years to satisfy my sheepskin slipper fix.
Now listen, I know there are haters out there who think Uggs are overpriced and overhyped.
But in my personal experience, once you slide your toes into that plush sheepskin lining, it’s like walking on clouds! The warmth just envelops your feet in a big fuzzy hug.
There’s truly nothing else like it. So don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it, folks!
An interesting fact about Uggs is that they originated in Australia and New Zealand, where surfers wore them to keep their feet warm after getting out of the chilly ocean waters.
The boots didn’t make their way to the US until the late 1990s and early 2000s when they exploded in popularity.
Like many fashion trends, they garnered both die-hard fans and vocal critics. But in my opinion, their meteoric rise just speaks to their magical mix of comfort and style!
Now before you shell out big bucks for real-deal Uggs, let me introduce you to some budget-friendly alternatives I’ve discovered through the years that give you that same cozy Ugg feel without breaking the bank:
Bearpaw
If you’re looking for Ugg vibes at a fraction of the price, Bearpaw boots are gonna be your new best friend.
Their knit and suede boots are super soft, warm, and fuzzy – it’s like wearing a hug on your feet! I especially love their shorter boots like the Emma short boot or the Isabella boot for slipping on to run errands.
The Emma style has a knit sweater upper with suede heel guards and soft faux fur lining. It comes in versatile neutral shades like black, gray and camel that match everything.
The Isabella is a short suede boot with a rounded toe just like the Ugg Classic Short. It has a plush cow suede upper and fuzzy sheepskin footbed. I can wear it all day without getting sore feet! And at around $50-$80, you can’t beat the price!
Another great Bearpaw style is the Chloe boot. This mid-calf boot has a cow suede upper and tall knit collar that hits at just the right spot on your leg.
The wool blend knit is so soft and stretchy and keeps your calves nice and cozy. And it comes in pretty colors like blush, red and camo print that add style to any winter outfit. For less than $100, you’ll wanna snag these in multiple colors!
Sorel Out N About Chelsea
When I’m looking for something a little more weather-friendly than my Uggs to trek through rain or snow, Sorel is my go-to brand.
The Out N About Chelsea boot has a waterproof leather and suede upper and a cushiony foam footbed that feels like you’re walking on a cloud.
And with a durable rubber sole, you don’t have to worry about slipping on slick surfaces. It’s rugged enough for outdoor adventures but stylish enough for everyday wear.
I love the details on this boot, like the adjustable back gore panel that lets me pull them on and off easily and the convenient back pull tab. The full-grain leather upper comes in rich colors like black, brown and cognac that pair well with any outfit.
And the microfleece lining keeps my feet toasty even when temps drop below freezing. Even after miles of walking through heavy snow, my feet stay warm, dry and comfortable.
Sorel’s Joan of Arctic Chelsea boot is another great rugged option. This sleek wedge boot has a faux fur collar and waterproof suede and textile upper to handle winter weather in style.
The foam footbed and rubber sole give all-day cushioning and traction on slippery surfaces. Whether I’m running errands around town or taking the dog for a wintry hike, this stylish Sorel boot has me covered!
Minnetonka Cally Slipper
These suede slip-on boots from Minnetonka give me major Ugg Scuffette vibes. They have that same soft, cozy sheepskin lining and flexible sole that moves with your foot.
I love to wear these around the house for ultimate comfort, but the rubber outsole also makes them durable enough to wear out running errands too.
The Cally slipper comes in both solid suede colors like chestnut brown and fun printed options like leopard and cow print.
They have soft faux fur lining and a suede covered foam footbed that molds to your feet. And with a flexible rubber sole, I can wear them for hours without discomfort. At around $50, I may need to stock up on a few colors!
If you prefer a slipper with a harder sole, Minnetonka’s Britt bootie has a lightweight, flexible rubber sole for indoor/outdoor wear.
It has a super soft faux fur lining and comes in coordinating sets of different colors and patterns. For less than $40 you can get multiple pairs for wearing all around the house!
Journee Collection Pixie Boots
Do you love the Ugg Ultra Mini style but want something under $50? Let me introduce you to the Pixie boots from Journee Collection.
These little short boots are made from faux suede and have a plush faux fur lining and collar that reminds me so much of my Uggs. They come in neutral colors like chestnut and black as well as fun prints to mix up your style.

Journee Collection’s Tessa boot is another Ugg lookalike I love. This knee-high style has a water-resistant faux suede upper and fuzzy faux fur collar.
The fold-over cuff can be worn up or folded down for two different looks. And with cozy faux fur lining and textured rubber sole, they’re just as comfortable as my Uggs.
Koolaburra by Ugg Victoria Boots
Here’s a little secret – Koolaburra is actually owned by the Deckers company that owns Ugg! So you know their boots are going to have that same luxurious feel.
I’m obsessed with their Victoria short boots that look just like the Ugg Classic Short II but are around $100 cheaper. Get ready for the compliments to roll in when you rock these cuties!
The Victoria short boot runs about mid-calf with a super soft suede upper and plush, genuine sheepskin lining.
They have that signature Ugg sole that molds to your feet and a rubber outsole for traction. I love the mini cuffable foldover detail at the top, which can be worn up or folded down. And they come in pretty neutral colors like chestnut, black and gray.
If you prefer a tall style, Koolaburra’s Tayrn boots have the same cozy construction but hit above the knee.
The suede shaft can be folded down to change up the style. And with a price tag under $90, you can grab both the short and tall versions without breaking the bank!
