I’ll never forget the first time I laid eyes on a piece from The Row.
It was a slouchy leather hobo bag carried by a chic woman strutting down the streets of SoHo.
I was so struck by the effortless luxury of the buttery leather and clean lines that I made it my mission to get my hands on something, anything from the brand started by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Of course, took one look at the price tags and realized The Row was far out of reach for my budget.
But where there’s a will (and some careful Sale scouting), there’s a way…
Over the years, through tireless searching, I’ve discovered there are quite a few brands that can deliver that same elegantly relaxed luxury look for a fraction of the cost.
So here are my top brands similar to the row:
Cuyana
This San Francisco-based brand is totally committed to “fewer, better” products made responsibly from the highest quality materials.
Their timeless and functional designs deliver understated luxury at surprisingly affordable price points.
I’d recommend their crossbody bags and minimalist jewelry as great options with a similar aesthetic to The Row but without the shocking price tags.
For example, Cuyana’s Smooth Leather Saddle Bag costs $228 compared to the $2,950 you’d pay for The Row’s Small Convertible Leather Saddle Bag.
But Cuyana’s version still provides that slouchy, relaxed shape and premium leather construction. It comes in versatile neutrals like black, chocolate, and sandstone.
I’ve found their bags hold up extremely well over time. The hardware stands up to repeated use without any tarnishing. And the leather develops a beautiful patina as you wear it.
Cuyana’s jewelry is also exquisitely crafted from ethical materials like 100% recycled 14k gold and conflict-free diamonds.
Their Lean Stack Ring set allows you to customize a minimalist diamond band and pair it with complementing plain bands.
All for just $420 compared to the astronomical $3,400 price tag you’d pay for The Row’s Diamond Five Band Ring Set.
Everlane
Everlane has made radical transparency part of its brand DNA. They focus on premium essentials in neutral colors at reasonable prices.
For a pared-back luxurious look, check out their cashmere sweaters, leather totes and loafers with a refined, contemporary vibe.
One of my personal favorites from Everlane is their Cashmere Crew sweater which costs $100 compared to the $2,100 you’d pay for a basic cashmere crewneck from The Row.
Everlane’s cashmere comes from Inner Mongolia, where goats produce the longest, thinnest and softest fibers. They partner with ethical factories and limit middlemen, allowing them to offer luxury level cashmere at an affordable price point.
The Cashmere Crew comes in a wide range of neutral hues from classic black and grey to more modern sandstone, bone, peach and sage green.
I own several Everlane cashmere sweaters that still look brand new after many seasons of wear. The quality truly stands up over time.
For a more updated take, check out Everlane’s Oversized Alpaca Crew. It has an elegantly relaxed fit and comes in on-trend earth tones like camel and sienna.
At $98, it’s less than 5% of the price you’d pay for The Row’s alpaca sweater!
COS
Their products scream quiet luxury rather than loud branding. Some key items that capture The Row essence include their wool coats, soft knits and leather accessories.
COS is one of my go-tos for quality leather goods that feel luxurious without the shocking price tags.
For example, their Leather Cross Body Bag with Flap costs $290, compared to the $2,650 you’d pay for The Row’s Small Lizard & Leather Crossbody Bag.
The COS version has clean lines and a modern, minimalist look. It comes in 3 colors – black, camel, and light bone.
I love the adjustable strap that allows you to wear it cross-body or over the shoulder. The leather is thick and supple, with a soft pebbled texture that’s both durable and elegant. It has an interior slip pocket that fits all the daily essentials.
I’ve found COS leather bags develop a beautiful patina over time that only enhances their understated luxury feel.
They avoid loud logos and trendy details, instead focusing on exquisite materials and craftsmanship that stand the test of time.
MM.LaFleur
This is my go-to brand for elevated workwear with a focus on women’s bodies in motion. Their “Bento Box” program makes it easy to try on several styles at home before deciding what to keep.
While geared toward office attire, their meticulously tailored pants, blazers and sheath dresses in luxe natural fabrics definitely exude The Row spirit.
MM.LaFleur’s clothes may skew more professional, but they perfectly capture The Row’s aesthetic of relaxed refinement. The materials and tailoring are exquisite, with subtle design details that make their pieces stand out.
For instance, their Foster Pant has the same elegantly slouchy wide leg silhouette as The Row’s Cameron trouser, but at $195 vs. $990.
It comes in neutral colors like black, navy and clay. I love the extra wide waistband that stays smooth under sweaters and prevents gaping at the back. And the fabric has just the right amount of stretch to stay creased and keep shape all day long.
Another great option is the Eos Blazer which retails for $295 compared to the $1,790 you’d pay for The Row’s similar double-breasted jacket.
It’s cut from a stretch wool fabric that feels luxuriously substantial but moves with you. The sleeves are designed to properly show off shirt cuffs and watches. It’s those thoughtful details that make MM.LaFleur stand out even though the silhouettes remain classic and refined.
Naadam
When it comes to cashmere, Naadam delivers heirloom quality at an unbelievable price.
They cut out middlemen and work directly with Mongolian herders to sustainably source ridiculously soft cashmere that feels far pricier than it is. Their classic cashmere sweaters come in every neutral color for easy luxury layering.
Naadam offers cashmere staples like crewnecks, v-necks and cardigans for both women and men. But their prices are a mere fraction of what you’d pay for comparable Row cashmere.
For example, Naadam’s Essential $75 Cashmere Crew competes with The Row’s $850 cashmere sweater. It comes in all the perfect neutral shades from black to camel to gray to white.
The quality of the Mongolian cashmere fibers is second to none – it’s unbelievably soft and exceptionally durable compared to cheaper cashmere.
I also love Naadam’s Oversized Cashmere Hoodie for a more modern, casual take on luxury cashmere. It costs just $200 vs. the whopping $2,300 price tag on The Row’s Cashmere Hoodie Sweatshirt.
Naadam’s hoodie comes in both neutral solids and fun color-blocked options. It’s substantial enough to hold structure while still feeling plush and cozy. The oversized silhouette nails the laidback luxury vibe The Row embodies.
L’Agence
This LA-based brand excels at pared-back pieces cut from Italian and Japanese fabrics. Their perfectly draped silk dresses and flawlessly tailored blazers and trousers emulate The Row’s relaxed Californian luxury vibe. Pro tip: their sales can include insane deals if you’re patient!
L’Agence perfectly encapsulates that effortless LA luxury style. Their clothes may look simple and minimalist at first glance, but the materials and construction are extraordinary.
For instance, their Margot Blazer rendered in Japanese wool retails for $495 compared to the $1,890 price tag on The Row’s Olivier Oversized Blazer.
But it provides that same relaxed fit and soft structure The Row is known for. The wool fabric has a touch of stretch so it moves beautifully and keeps its shape.
L’Agence is also known for their printed silk dresses and blouses that drape and flow like a dream. The Leopard Print Silk Caftan sells for $550 (not cheap but a steal compared to The Row’s $2,950 printed maxi dress). The floaty silhouette and retro-inspired abstract animal print exude easy, understated glamour.
L’Agence only uses the finest Italian silks and Japanese fabrics, but watching for their sales can make these luxurious investment pieces more accessible.
I scored their Crepe Jumpsuit for 60% off – it was still $450 but absolute perfection for a black tie event.
Frame
This brand oozes easy LA style. Known for their perfectly faded jeans, Frame also offers elegant knits, blouses, jackets and dresses that manage to be both minimalist and striking.
Their earth tone color palette and mix of luxe natural fabrics like silk, cashmere and leather make any outfit look effortlessly chic.
Frame is the epitome of that casual LA luxury look. Their clothes may seem basic at first glance, but the fabrics and tailoring elevate each piece.
Their slim fit jeans have achieved cult status among fashionistas who swear they’re the most flattering cut ever.
The Le High Straight jeans provide the same leg-lengthening silhouette as The Row’s signature jeans for just $238 instead of the $690 you’d shell out for the designer version.
Frame’s fabric blends Cotton, Tencel, Polyamide and Elastene to create a perfect stretchy yet structured denim that molds to your body.
For easy luxe tops, check out Frame’s silk shirts and cashmere sweaters. Their Cashmere Crew Neck retails for $298 compared to the $790 you’d pay for The Row’s basic version.
It comes in neutral hues like black, white, grey and tan. The cashmere offers that perfect blend of softness and structure. Plus the relaxed fit provides an effortlessly elegant look.
Mansur Gavriel
Famous for their buttery soft leather bags in muted tones, Mansur Gavriel also offers elegant shoes, ready-to-wear and accessories.
Made in Italy from premium materials, their products embody a quiet, contemporary luxury. Key items to check out include their crossbody bags, loafers and cotton poplin dresses.
Buttery soft leather with minimalist shapes – that’s the Mansur Gavriel ethos. If you love The Row’s leather goods but can’t stomach the prices, check out Mansur Gavriel.
Their iconic Leather Bucket Bag comes in neutral hues like blush, tan and black toned leather for $595. That seems like a splurge until you consider The Row’s Small Grainy Leather Bucket Bag retails for $2,950!
The leather Mansur Gavriel uses is truly the best of the best. It’s crafted from Italian cowhide that develops a beautiful patina over time but starts out incredibly supple and lightweight right from the get-go.
The bags are deceptively spacious thanks to the minimalist, functional designs.
Beyond bags, Mansur also offers elegant loafers and flats that perfectly capture The Row’s essence of relaxed refinement.
Their Crossover Leather Loafers sell for just $395 compared to the $790 you’d pay for The Row’s Backless Leather Loafers.
Arket
This brand from the H&M group focuses on modern essentials and “functional quality” at reasonable prices.
Made in Italy, France and Portugal from premium natural fabrics, their timeless silhouettes and neutral color palette deliver Scandinavian-inspired pared-back luxury you can wear for years to come.
If you love The Row’s Scandinavian-inspired minimalism but don’t love their elite price points, turn to Arket. This brand keeps quality sky-high but costs down by partnering directly with factories around the world.
For outerwear with elegantly relaxed shapes, check out their oversized wool coats. The Alpaca & Wool Blend Coat sells for $259 compared to the $2,890 you’d pay for a similar style from The Row.
It’s cut from a premium double-faced wool and alpaca blend sourced from Peru.
The fabric provides insulation while retaining a lightweight feel. Details like dropped shoulders, notch lapels and deep side pockets ensure the coat embodies easy luxury.
Arket’s knitwear is also phenomenal, rivaling The Row’s quality at a fraction of the cost. Their Cashmere Crewneck Sweater comes in neutral hues like gray melange, camel, navy and black for just $179 vs.
The Row’s $1,150 starting price for a basic cashmere sweater.
The Line by K
This brand founded by stylist Karla Welch specializes in basic wardrobe essentials rendered in the finest luxury materials.
A pair of jeans from The Line will set you back just as much as a pair from The Row, but everything is ethical, sustainable and made to last a lifetime.
Their perfectly tailored shirts, t-shirts, denim and leather jackets epitomize their “buy better, not more” ethos.
If you really want investment pieces with the same craftsmanship and materials as The Row, The Line by K delivers.
The price tags are just as staggering, but at least you can feel good knowing sweatshop labor isn’t involved and the environmental impact is minimized.
The Line’s foundation is their perfect fitting sustainable denim. Their High Straight Jeans retail for $240, right on par with The Row’s prices.
But they use organic cotton denim designed to contour the female form and reduce waist gapping. Even the buttons are made from renewable corozo nut.
Beyond denim, The Line offers exquisite leather jackets, cashmere sweaters and silk shirts built to last a lifetime.
Their clothing simplifies decision fatigue because you know everything is ethical, sustainably made and timeless. It’s the pinnacle of The Row’s “buy less, buy better” philosophy.
NN07
Copenhagen-based brand NN07 excels at effortless Scandinavian style. Known for their exceptional knits and relaxed tailoring, their clothes seem modest at first glance but are impeccably made from premium natural fabrics.
For that luxe Row look on a budget, check out their oversized sweaters and wool trousers.
NN07 perfectly encapsulates that essence of Scandi cool The Row delivers so well. They’re obsessive about fabric quality and fit but avoid trendy details.
For luxury essentials, start with their cashmere. NN07’s Cashmere Crewneck retails for about $200 compared to the $850+ you’d pay for similar from The Row.
It comes in versatile neutral colors with a relaxed fit. The cashmere is ethically sourced from Inner Mongolia, ensuring exceptional softness and durability.
NN07 is also known for their knack with wool trousers. Their Wool Fiona Pants have the same wide-leg silhouette as The Row’s Cameron trousers, but for $199 vs. $990.
The material is a lightweight wool crepe that feels soft and drapey but keeps structure. The cut is flattering for all body types.
For outerwear, try NN07’s Oversized Wool Blazer. At $349, it’s less than a quarter the price of The Row’s oversized wool blazers which retail over $1,500. It nails the nonchalant Scandi vibe with clean lines in neutral colors like black, camel and gray.
Material
This online brand focuses on Japanese-inspired essentials in luxe materials at direct-to-consumer prices. Their best-selling silk shirts and trousers in neutral tones have a refined minimalism that feels like The Row’s cooler European cousin. I especially love their recycled cashmere for quality that feels far more expensive than it is.
Material delivers luxury essentials directly from their factories outside Tokyo to your door. By eliminating middlemen, they can offer exquisite construction and fabrics for a fraction of designer prices.
Their silk shirts feel just as sumptuous as The Row’s versions but cost around $150 compared to almost $1,000 from the luxury designer.
Material uses long fiber mulberry silk known for its shine and fluid drape. Options like the Everyday Silk Button Down Shirt come in an array of neutral solids and prints perfect for layering.
When it comes to cashmere, Material offers full-zip and quarter-zip recycled cashmere sweaters from About $150 compared to almost $1,000 from The Row. The recycled cashmere has a brushed texture that feels simultaneously cozy and polished. It’s never itchy or delicate.
Material also excels at relaxed trousers that embody The Row’s laidback luxury vibe. Their Wide Leg Jeans retail for around $100 compared to almost $700 from the designer label. They come in 3 perfect neutral washes to complement any wardrobe.
Ines
Founder Ines Alphaudy honed her skills as Head of Atelier at Celine before launching her own brand focused on luxurious ease.
Based in Paris and New York, Ines offers effortless tailored pieces in rich neutral tones. For that Row look at a more down-to-earth price, try their silk shirts, wide-leg pants, and oversized blazers.
Ines perfectly encapsulates Parisian chic for the modern working woman. The silhouettes are minimal yet striking and the materials feel luxurious.
For example, their fluid silk shirts sell for around $350 compared to almost $1,000 for The Row’s versions but provide the same sumptuous feel.
Ines uses only the finest silk charmeuse from Italy, allowing it to flow gracefully over the body. The relaxed fit long sleeved Silk Shirt comes in versatile neutrals like black, ivory, sand and caramel.
Their wool crepe blazers have an elegant boxy fit made for layering. The double-breasted Wool Crepe Blazer costs about $650, significantly less than the $2,500+ you’d pay for a similar style from The Row. The wool crepe has beautiful drape and retains structure beautifully. It’s an effortless topper over both dresses and pants.
Ines’ trousers also embody relaxed Parisian refinement. Their Wool Pleated Trousers have a similar wide-leg silhouette to The Row’s for $390 vs. almost $1,000. They’re woven from lightweight wool with expertly placed pleats to create an elongating shape for all figures.
Thoughtly
This sustainable brand based out of NYC specializes in basics for the modern working woman. Their timeless silhouettes come in luxe natural fabrics like silk, organic cotton, and alpaca. Check out their trench coats, silk shirts, and wide leg pants for affordable investments that can anchor any wardrobe.
Thoughtfully ethically crafts wardrobe essentials from premium natural fibers. They believe sustainability and luxury can go hand in hand.
Their oversized trench coats offer relaxed refinement like The Row’s but at more accessible price points around $100-$200. Thoughtly uses Tencel, a sustainable fabric made from wood pulp, to provide that perfect drape. The trenches come in versatile solids like black, beige and olive.
For easy silk blouses, Thoughtly’s Silk V-Neck Top sells for about $120 compared to the $690 you’d pay for The Row’s version. It comes in both solid neutrals and prints like polka dots and graphic florals. The silk charmeuse has a slight sheen and smooth feel.
Thoughtly also utilizes alpaca wool for soft luxe knits. Their Oversized Alpaca Wool Sweater provides the slouchy, effortless fit The Row is known for at just $198 vs. $1,150. It comes in neutral solids with a substantial feel that still breathes well.
Lemaire
This Paris-based brand founded by Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran offers a minimalist aesthetic, exquisite fabrics, and impeccable tailoring. Their oversized silhouettes in tons of neutral earth tones deliver that effortless Row vibe at more down-to-earth prices. Key items to covet include their cashmere sweaters, wide leg trousers, and wool coats.
Lemaire delivers that quintessential Parisian aesthetic of minimal shapes, exquisite fabrics and muted, natural color palettes.
Their cashmere sweaters offer the same exceptional quality as The Row for about a quarter of the price. Lemaire’s Oversized Cashmere Sweater comes in versions like black, camel and gray melange for around $530 compared to over $2,000 for The Row. The cashmere feels featherlight yet substantial.
For voluminous trousers with an elegantly relaxed vibe, try Lemaire’s Wide Leg Wool Trousers for approximately $470. They provide the same look as The Row’s trousers for half the price tag. The wool crepe fabrication keeps its structure while draping beautifully.
When it comes to outerwear, Lemaire’s wool-cashmere coats provide refined minimalism. The Alpaca & Wool Blend Coat comes in neutral tan and retails around $1,175 vs. nearly $3,000 for a similar style from The Row. The double-faced wool fabric offers incredible warmth without weight.
Acne Studios
This Swedish brand excels at sophisticated, minimalist basics with clever detailing that feel anything but basic.
Acne Studios delivers a minimal Scandinavian aesthetic combined with a modern, directional vibe. The result is timeless pieces with thoughtful details and silhouettes.
Their outerwear rivals The Row’s elegantly oversized shapes. Acne’s Wool Alpaca Coat provides relaxed refinement for around $650 compared to the $2,600+ you’d pay for a similar Row coat. It comes in camel, charcoal and black, crafted from a luxe double-faced wool blend.
For knits, try Acne’s Cashmere Crewneck Sweater for about $530 vs. over $800 from The Row. It comes in beautiful neutral shades like dark gray, deep navy, black and ivory. The cashmere feels immediately soft yet substantial.
Acne is also renowned for their perfect fitting jeans. Their High Waist Cropped Jeans offer a similar silhouette to The Row’s cropped skinny jeans for around $240 instead of $590.
Made from pressed Italian denim, they create a super flattering, elongating shape.
