You guys, I was on the hunt for some new jeans the other day, and I stumbled upon Purple Brand.
At first glance I was obsessed – I mean, just look at those funky colors and cool patterns! But when I saw the price tag, my heart sank.
There was no way I could justify spending that much on a single pair of jeans.
So I went on a mission to find some cheaper alternatives.
After tons of searching, trying on different brands, and studying reviews, I uncovered awesome brands that have similar styles and fits to Purple Brand, but without the staggering price point.
My favorites ended up being Democracy and Silver Jeans – both had the same funky look for a fraction of the cost.
Democracy
Democracy is all about offering stylish, quality clothing at affordable prices. Their jeans have the same funky colors, patterns, and distressing that Purple Brand is known for.
I found some super cute colored skinnies for just $39! Specifically, I tried on their mid-rise absolution skinny jeans which come in several bright colorways like coral, mint, and lilac.
The stretch fabric hugged my curves perfectly and the distressed details gave them that perfectly broken-in look.
For $39, I was thrilled with the fit and feel – very comparable to my favorite pair from Purple but much cheaper.
Democracy also has some slim boyfriend jeans with cool floral embroidery designs down the leg that remind me so much of what you’d find from Purple. If you want that funky, fashion-forward look without the designer price tag, Democracy is a great option.
Silver Jeans
Silver Jeans was started by the son of the founder of Guess Jeans, so you know their denim is top quality. They have a ton of colorful and printed jeans that rival what Purple Brand offers.
I got an adorable pair of purple jeans for $79. Specifically, I’m obsessed with their high-rise skinnies – they come in so many awesome colors and prints like a vibrant purple python print, a blue and white paisley, and a teal tie-dye.
The fabric is super stretchy without losing its shape, and the waist hits at just the right spot.
I also love their super skinny ankle jeans with the raw hem detail – the black pair made my legs look a mile long! At around $79-$99 a pair, Silver Jeans are a steal compared to designer denim.
I get so many compliments whenever I wear them, and people are shocked when I tell them the price. If you love Purple’s eye-catching prints and colors, Silver should definitely be on your radar.
Joe’s Jeans
Joe’s Jeans are made in LA and focus on fit and feel. While they don’t have as many wild prints, they do have a great selection of colored skinnies and jeggings for way less than Purple Brand.
I’d recommend checking out their classic mid-rise skinny jeans – they have every color imaginable, from classics like medium blue wash to vibrant shades like coral, yellow, and lilac.
I’m also obsessed with their cropped jegging in a light denim wash – they’re the perfect ankle length on me at 5’4″.
Joe’s Jeans also does great basic black skinnies with just a touch of stretch for that perfect sleek fit. At around $158 a pair, they’re still a significant savings over designer denim. If you want a style that’s more understated but still trendy, Joe’s is a great Purple Brand alternative.
DL1961
DL1961 uses innovative fabrics like XFIT Lycra to create jeans that contour to your body for the perfect fit.
They have basic colors but some really cool moto styling and distressing. Worth checking out if you like edgier jeans.
I especially love their Emma fit – it’s a mid-rise skinny with just the right amount of stretch and distressed details on the knees.
They look like I’ve been breaking them in for years! DL1961 also has some cropped skinnies with really cool side knee slit details that remind me of what you see from high-end designers like Purple.
And their fabric technology means the jeans don’t lose their shape – I never have issues with sagging. Priced around $168, they’re an awesome mid-range option between cheap mall brands and ultra premium denim.
Siwy Denim
LA-based Siwy Denim is known for their signature pocket stitching and flattering fits. Like Purple Brand, they focus on creating eye-catching details.
Great spot to find stylish colored jeans for less. My absolute fave from Siwy is their Hannah skinny ankle jeans – I love the high rise fit and strategic placed distressing on the legs.
I also appreciate that they come in inclusive sizing from 00-24.
Their Sarah straight leg jeans are awesome too, with cool raw hem detailing and a relaxed fit through the hip and thigh.
Siwy does great basic and colored skinnies as well, like an olive green clean rinse. At around $154-$172 per pair, their pricing is very reasonable for the premium look and feel.
J Brand
J Brand is committed to timeless, fashion-forward design. While their jeans skew more classic, they do offer some fun colors, distressed details, and modern silhouettes similar to Purple Brand.
I’d recommend their Maria high rise skinny jeans – the fabric has stretch but hugs your curves in all the right places.
I also love their Alana cropped jeans – the frayed hem detailing instantly makes any outfit look more stylish. And they have some great black skinnies with ankle slits that remind me of the edgy styles from Purple.
J Brand runs sales pretty frequently, so you can often score their jeans for around $128 instead of the usual $198. Definitely worth trying if you prefer a more classic look.
Hudson
Founded in LA, Hudson creates comfortable, effortlessly cool jeans with an emphasis on fit. In addition to classic blues, they have some printed and colored jeans that mimic the Purple Brand aesthetic.
My favorites are their Nico mid-rise Super Skinny jeans that come in an awesome red snakeskin print, as well as bold colors like fuchsia and teal.
I also love their cropped Barbara high-rise ankle jeans – the hem hits perfectly to show off your shoes. And their Krista Super Skinny jeans come in pretty pastel shades and even some subtle polka dot prints.
Hudson’s styles are flattering without being overly trendy. At around $165-$194 per pair, they’re a great contemporary designer option.
Levi’s
An iconic denim brand, Levi’s has been upping their style game in recent years.
Now in addition to their signature blues, they offer edgy black skinnies, cool patterns, and colorful jeans perfect for Purple Brand fans.
One of my new faves is their Ribcage straight skinny jeans that come in a bunch of funky prints like a pink and orange floral.
I also love their high-waisted 311 Shaping Skinny jeans – they come in pretty much every color and have slight distressing for that perfectly worn look.
And Levi’s is super affordable, with most styles coming in under $100. Definitely a great option if you love the colorful, eye-catching aesthetic of Purple Brand.
Topshop
Known for trendy styles at affordable prices, Topshop is a great spot to find playful printed and colored jeans like Purple Brand offers.
Lots of distressed details and modern washes too. Their Jamie jeans are a bestseller – I’d recommend trying the high waist ripped knee style in a light or medium wash. The Joni style also has that slim tapered leg that’s so on-trend right now.
And Topshop has lots of options with cool prints, like their black heart print Jamie jeans. With most styles coming in under $80, you can load up on trendy Topshop denim without breaking the bank.
Madewell
Madewell focuses on quality over quantity when it comes to their jeans. While their denim leans more classic, they do offer some slim fits and unique washes similar to Purple Brand for a lot less money.
The Roadtripper jeans are a popular skinny option – I love them in the vintage medium indigo wash. Madewell also does some cool distressed styles, like the Cali Demi Boot jeans with shredded knee details.
While their denim skews more subtle and relaxed, the quality at Madewell is unmatched for the price. Expect to pay $115-$135 per pair. If you want that premium feel without over-the-top distressing, Madewell is a solid bet.
AE Jeans
American Eagle’s jeans brand AE offers trendy silhouettes, colors, and distressing at budget prices. Definitely worth browsing if you’re looking for a cheaper Purple Brand dupe.
Their highest rise jegging is awesome – it comes in a bunch of colors and has that perfect stretchy fit. I’d also recommend their classic Favorite straight jeans which are great for tucking into boots.
And AE does fun bright colors and patterns too, like a pretty rose print and a cool light denim with rainbow specks. With styles starting at just $49.95, you can definitely stock up without breaking the bank.
Lucky Brand
Lucky Brand jeans have a laidback SoCal vibe just like Purple Brand. While they have more classic washes, their slim fits and cool details give them a similar look and feel.
Check out their Mid Rise Ava Skinny jeans – they have the perfect amount of distressing and come in a range of medium to dark washes.
I also love their cropped Lolita skinny jeans with the raw hem – they show a pop of ankle which is very on trend.
Lucky also does some cute embroidered and patchwork details that give their jeans a boho flair. Prices run from about $99-$129 so they’re reasonably priced for the quality.
Forever 21
It’s fast-fashion, but Forever 21 gets some major style points for their denim selection. Tons of trendy colors, prints, and silhouettes similar to Purple Brand for under $40.
Their High Waisted Skinny Jeans are a total staple – great fit and come in every wash imaginable. I also love their Distressed Skinny Jeans with ripped knees and edgy moto detailing.
And Forever 21 kills it with their printed jeans game – from plaid and graphic prints to pretty florals. You can really stock up on trendy denim for cheap here. Just be aware that the quality won’t be quite as good as pricier brands.
ASOS
This popular online retailer offers just about any style of jeans you can think of. Great spot to find Purple Brand dupes – I saw lots of similar distressed details, colors, and prints for way cheaper.
Their Ridley skinny jeans are a bestseller and come in every wash – I love the ripped versions. ASOS also has cute cropped kickflare jeans that remind me of Purple’s modern flares.
And so many fun prints, like a black and white newspaper print and an artsy paint splatter motif. With tons of styles under $50, you can really experiment with trendy denim at ASOS without investing too much.
Topman
Topman is like the men’s version of Topshop – cool, trendy clothes that won’t break the bank. Their skinny jeans come in pretty much every color and pattern for an affordable Purple Brand alternative.
The Stretch Skinny Jeans are a wardrobe staple and look great dressed up or down. For something more eye-catching, check out their patterned jeans with motifs like tropical prints, stripes, and tie-dye.
And Topman’s denim comes in inclusive sizing as well with waist sizes from 28-38 inches. Expect most styles to ring up around $70 or less. Definitely worth a look if you appreciate Purple’s bold, innovative style.
Guess
Guess jeans have that signature American style combined with European flair. Like Purple Brand, they focus on creating eye-catching details and trendy finishes.
Great spot to get a similar look for less. Guess has awesome skinny jeans like their Power Skinny style that I love in a medium wash with distressed details. For a cropped look, their Ankle Skinny jeans are a must – I’m obsessed with the light wash destroyed pair.
They also do fun embroidery and patches for that boho denim look. With prices from $98-$138, you get designer style at a fraction of the cost. If you want showstopping denim, add Guess to your list.
NYDJ
While NYDJ has more classic washes, their focus on fit and comfort gives them a similar feel to Purple Brand.
Worth checking out for black skinnies and modern styles. Their Alina Legging jeans are super popular – they come in regular, petite and plus sizes for an inclusive fit. I’d recommend trying their Billie Mini Bootcut style for a flattering slim cut through the leg.
NYDJ also does cool coated jeans that mimic leather and fun colorful twill styles as well. Expect to pay around $100-$150 per pair. While it’s not the most budget-friendly option, the quality is there.
Articles of Society
If you love Purple Brand’s emphasis on fit and functionality, Articles of Society should be on your radar. This LA-based brand creates jeans designed for women with curves and athletic builds.
Their vintage skinny jeans are amazing – made with extra stretch fabric and a contoured waistband that highlights your shape. I’d specifically recommend the Greta high rise vintage skinny style. The medium wash is super flattering and the distressed details give them that perfectly broken-in vibe.
Articles of Society also does printed jeans with really unique designs, like a blue splatter motif or an abstract paint print in black and white.
They’re much more affordable than Purple Brand at around $118 a pair. But the quality and fit rival premium denim for a fraction of the price. If you appreciate functionality and finding jeans that work for your body type, Articles of Society is a stellar option.
Blank NYC
Edgy NYC-based brand Blank NYC nails that grunge-cool aesthetic that Purple Brand is known for. Their skinny and straight leg jeans have the coolest ripped details and distressing.
The Westbound high rise skinny is awesome – I love the destroyed look combined with the flattering high waist. Blank NYC’s girlfriend jeans are also a must-try – the Ex Boyfriend style has the perfect relaxed straight leg fit.
And they have some really unique coated and colored jeans, like a slick black pair and a metallic olive green. At around $88 a pair, Blank NYC lets you get the designer denim look on a budget. If you want jeans with attitude that stand out, add them to your list.
Frame
Los Angeles based brand Frame has mastered effortlessly chic, laidback style. Their jeans skew trendy but in a timeless, understated way.
I’d recommend their Le High Straight jeans for a modern cropped cut – they look amazing with loafers or heels. Frame’s skinny jeans are phenomenal too, like the Le Skinny De Jeanne style that comes in a bunch of washes.
And they do really cool coated denim that mimics leather for an edgy look. While Frame runs on the pricier side at around $200-$240 per pair, the quality is superb.
The fits are on point and the jeans sculpt your body while still being comfy for all-day wear. If you want fashion-forward denim with luxe detailing, Frame delivers.
Rag & Bone
A leader in premium denim, Rag & Bone is a go-to for the quality and fit Purple Brand provides – but way more accessible price-wise.
Their jeans have impeccable tailoring with the perfect amount of stretch. I’m obsessed with their Lenox skinny jeans that hit at just the right spot on the ankle. Rag & Bone also does really cool moto and biker styles, like the Hoxton high rise skinny jeans with panel detailing.
While their classic blues are stunning, they have some wintery grayish washes that are super unique too. Expect to pay around $185-$225 per pair. For designer quality denim without quite as much damage to your wallet, Rag & Bone is a stellar pick.
Mother
LA denim brand Mother nails a laidback, effortlessly cool SoCal style that Purple Brand embodies. Their jeans have just enough distressed detailing without going overboard.
I’d recommend checking out their High Waisted Looker ankle fray jeans for a modern destroyed skinny jean.
Mother’s cropped Stepper jeans are also awesome – I love the raw hem detail. And they do fun motif embroidery if you want something beyond basic blues.
Like Purple Brand, Mother has an emphasis on quality and fit. Expect to pay $198-$248 per pair. While not cheap, they often run sales that make their premium denim more accessible. If you want that chill Cali style, you can’t go wrong with Mother.
