15+ Awesome Brands Similar to Bellroy Men’s Wallets & Bags

View More Inspo

Now, I’ll be honest – when it comes to my own accessories, I’m a total Bellroy fangirl.

I mean, their products are just the perfect mix of stylish, functional and responsibly made.

But I also know Bellroy’s gorgeous leather goods come at a price that’s outside many folks’ budgets.

And that’s where today’s post comes in!

Below I’m breaking down my top brands that I think deliver Bellroy-quality style and function at more affordable prices.

Get ready to meet your new wallet BFF…

I’d been eyeing one of their wallets for months, but couldn’t justify spending over $100 for a place to put my cards.

Until one day, I decided to treat myself and took the splurge.

Well, let’s just say that sucker is still sitting in my purse five years later looking fabulous.

The tan leather hasn’t faded one bit and still feels supple and luxurious.

Even the stitching has held up with no loose threads or unraveling.

Plus, the slim profile has aged well – no bulging or misshaping like cheaper wallets I’ve had.

Moral is, sometimes it really is worth investing in quality pieces built to last.

Though my thriftier self totally understands the hesitation too!

Here’s an interesting fact about these Bellroy alternatives – many are direct-to-consumer brands cutting out the middleman.

This helps them offer similar premium materials and quality construction at lower prices by avoiding retail markups.

For example, Herschel sells their wallets direct so you’re getting great value on their well-made products. Pretty genius right?

Okay, enough jabbering – let’s get to the good stuff!

The Ridge Wallet

First up is The Ridge, which offers minimalist metal wallets designed to hold just the essentials. I love their sleek look and range of colors, like carbon fiber black and burnt titanium.

Brands Similar to Bellroy

They’re made from durable aluminum alloy plates bound together with elastic screws. This flexible construction allows their slim wallets to expand to hold up to 12 cards while maintaining a thin profile for front pocket carry.

One downside is the limited space – if you’re someone who needs to haul around 20 credit cards, look elsewhere.

But for folks looking to pare down and ditch their bulky leather wallet, The Ridge is perfect. Their RFID-blocking technology also protects your payment info from wireless scanners. And at around $70, they’re very reasonably priced for an aluminum wallet made in the USA.

Herschel Charlie Wallet

Next is the classic Charlie wallet from Herschel, the brand known for their hip backpacks and travel bags.

Brands Similar to Bellroy

Like their other products, it’s made from durable polyester material with a simple bi-fold design. The Charlie comes in a variety of colors like black, navy and grey as well as some fun seasonal prints.

For example, their current 2022 World Cup line features flags from competing countries on a few wallet options. It’s a great way to subtly show your spirit! Inside, the Charlie has an ID window and divided sections for 1-5 cards plus cash.

The separate compartments help keep your cards and bills neatly organized for easy access. And at around $20, it’s a total steal for a basic yet stylish wallet built to last. If you want something affordable with timeless style, it’s hard to beat Herschel’s Charlie.

Fjallraven Gear Pocket

Fjallraven’s Gear Pocket is a bit different – it’s a rectangular zip pouch wallet meant to hold smaller items like keys or coins securely.

Brands Similar to Bellroy

It’s constructed from Fjallraven’s signature thick, durable recycled polyester exterior with a full grain leather trim. The leather accents give it a refined look, while the sturdy base protects against punctures from sharp objects inside.

The Gear Pocket comes in nice earthy tones like forest green, navy blue and ox red that match Fjallraven’s other outdoor gear. I like that their logo is subtly embossed on the bottom rather than blasting the name across the front.

At around 5″ x 3″, it fits easily in a front pocket to keep your valuables organized. And at $25, it’s reasonably priced for the quality materials.

Bellroy Slim Sleeve

Okay, I had to include at least one Bellroy product in this roundup! Their Slim Sleeve is a slender minimalist wallet that can hold 8+ cards without bulking up your pocket. It’s made from premium environmentally certified leather in colors like black, caramel and navy.

Inside are two quick-access slots for your most used cards, with a pull tab section behind that to store the rest.

I really like the craftsmanship – the contrast stitching is clean and consistent, with durable thread that hasn’t frayed or failed. While not the cheapest at $89, I think the Bellroy Slim Sleeve will develop a handsome patina over time. For fans of their aesthetic, it’s a quality investment piece.

Dash 3.0 Wallet by Trayvax

The Dash 3.0 from Trayvax is built tough for guys on the go who want cool tech-inspired style. It’s made from durable stainless steel plates screwed together with an RFID blocking inner layer.

The materials protect your cards from bending while blocking wireless scanners. Trayvax offers the Dash in a few colors like burnt orange and gunmetal gray to add personality. Cards slide out easily with their thumb push mechanism once you loosen the screws a bit.

It can comfortably fit 1-10 cards, plus some folded bills tucked behind them. The Dash 3.0 is made in the USA and costs around $65. For an edgy metal wallet under $100, it delivers great quality and security.

Secrid Cardprotector

Next up is the Secrid Cardprotector, an aluminum card wallet that fans out your cards at the push of a button.

I absolutely love the clever design – cards are stored securely inside the aluminum body, then spring out ready for selection when you press the side lever. It’s like having your cards presented to you on a silver platter! The Cardprotector comes in great matte colors like smoke blue, slate grey and jet black.

It can hold up to 6 cards comfortably while maintaining an ultra-slim silhouette. At around $70 it’s fairly priced for such a unique design. If you like gadgets and innovative features, definitely check out the Secrid Cardprotector.

Axess SPINN Wallet

The Axess SPINN wallet is another cool metal design, this time with a fun fidget spinner for accessing your cards! It’s made from stainless steel and aircraft aluminum for serious durability.

Give the spinner disc a flick with your thumb and your cards rotate into view. This flowing card display system allows quick access without having to fumble in pockets. The Axess SPINN comes in black, silver and gold finishes to suit your style.

It can fit up to 8 cards snugly against the metal body to keep them securely retained. Plus it’s quite affordable at $25 given the quality materials and unique mechanism. If you appreciate functional flair, give it a spin!

Buffway Slim Minimalist Wallet

For a basic no-frills leather wallet, check out the Buffway Slim Minimalist style. It’s made from full-grain leather that comes in classic colors like black, brown and cognac.

The leather has a smooth finish that develops a nice patina over time. Inside is a simple design with 6 credit card slots and a cash pocket that can accommodate 1-9 cards total.

I like that the pockets expand so nothing falls out, but still retain their shape rather than getting too stretched out like cheaper leather. For around $15 you can’t beat the quality and minimalist style. It’s the perfect discreet wallet for the back pocket.

Travelambo Front Pocket Wallet

Next is the Travelambo Front Pocket Wallet, made with security in mind. It’s constructed from genuine leather with RFID-blocking technology sewn into the lining.

This prevents digital pickpockets from wirelessly scanning your credit card information. The smooth leather exterior comes in classic colors like black, coffee and cognac brown. It has room for 4-8 cards plus an ID window, along with a larger pocket for bills.

The leather is on the firmer side and takes a bit to break in. But Travelambo’s wallets are known for good quality given the low price, usually $15 or less. For a minimalist metal-free wallet, it’s a great secure choice.

Distil Union Wally Micro Wallet

The Distil Union Wally Micro wallet is made for minimalists who hate bulky pockets. It’s incredibly thin – we’re talking a stack of 7 cards here folks – and lightweight at under 2 ounces. It’s constructed from flexible elastic material in fun pops of color like neon green, purple and pacific blue.

The expandable fabric molds tightly to hold just the essential 1-4 cards without stretching out over time. Any cards not being used can be stored in the included screw-on capsule.

It’s amazingly compact while keeping your cards secure. And at $15, it’s the perfect little wallet for light travelers who just need the basics.

Recycled Firefighter Sergeant Wallet

For a rugged tactical-style wallet, check out Recycled Firefighter’s Sergeant. True to its name, this durable wallet is literally made from repurposed decommissioned fire hose material.

The heavy duty canvas is coated with a waterproof backing and secured with strong velcro for quick access. It features multiple pockets sized for cards, cash, a key loop and more.

The Recycled Firefighter Sergeant comes in utilitarian colors like black, OD green and tan. At around $35, it’s a favorite amongst outdoorsmen, first responders and guys who are tough on their everyday carry items. If you want a near-indestructible wallet, this is it!

Flowfold Minimalist Wallet

Another great ultra-minimalist choice is the Flowfold Minimalist wallet. It’s built from durable laminated sailcloth material that’s both lightweight and waterproof.

This thin material is then stitched into an expandable sleeve with one pocket designed to hold just the essential 1-4 cards and IDs. The fabric comes in outdoorsy solid colors and stripes that resist fading.

While the snug fit helps retain cards, anything loose tends to slide out easily given the minimalist design. But for guys who strictly carry just the basics, the Flowfold is perfect for front pocket wear. Starting at $15, it’s great for travel or outdoor adventures where you want durable protection without the bulk.

Timberland Trifold Canvas Wallet

Next up, Timberland makes a great casual and affordable canvas trifold wallet. It’s constructed from 100% cotton canvas material in classic colors like olive green, tan and grey.

The Timberland tree logo is embroidered on the bottom corner to add their signature outdoor style. Inside are 5 card slots, an ID window and 2 larger pockets for cash.

The cotton canvas has a natural give that allows bills and multiple cards to fit without stretching the wallet out too much over time. And at only $12-15 depending on the color, it’s an amazing value for a basic yet durable all-purpose wallet.

MaxGear Aluminum Wallet

Here’s another metal option – the MaxGear Aluminum Wallet. It’s made from a single piece of durable aerospace-grade 5052 aluminum for serious strength.

The aluminum body protects cards from damage while blocking RFID scanners. Cards are accessed via a thumb slide mechanism that pushes them up for easy selection. The MaxGear wallet comes in aluminum silver, black and gunmetal grey to suit your style.

It fits approximately 1-10 cards snugly against the angled sides to keep them securely retained. And at only $13, it’s very affordable while still delivering quality. For a basic slim metal wallet, you can’t beat the MaxGear.

Storus Smart Money Clip Wallet

Lastly, we have the Storus Smart Money Clip – an innovative minimalist wallet that functions as both a money clip and card holder.

It’s uniquely constructed from flexible tyvek material, which is waterproof and seriously durable. But despite its toughness, the Storus wallet is extremely thin and able to flex and compress as needed to retain its slender form.

Inside are two pockets sized for 1-6 cards and some folded cash. The single exposed card becomes your quick-draw slot when folded. The Smart Money Clip comes in modern colors like ash grey, goldenrod and lichen green.

For around $15, it’s amazing that such a small design can hold so much while remaining lightweight and slender. Definitely worth checking out!

Jack Spade Canvas Zip Wallet

Jack Spade is known for quality craftsmanship with timeless masculine style, much like Bellroy. One of my favorites from them is the Canvas Zip Wallet, made from durable cotton canvas material.

It comes in versatile neutral tones like olive, navy and black that pair well with both casual and business attire.

The canvas fabric is rugged enough for everyday use but still feels smooth and refined. Inside there are 6 credit card slots, 2 bill compartments and a zippered coin pouch, giving ample organized storage.

What I really appreciate about Jack Spade wallets is the functionality. This design includes an external quick-access card slot, letting you easily tap or swipe without opening the whole wallet. The zippered section securely contains loose change so it doesn’t rattle around.

And the interior leather lining gives the cotton canvas structure to retain its shape. After over a year of use, my Canvas Zip Wallet still looks great despite some noticeable fading. For around $98, it meets that sweet spot between affordability and enduring quality.

Everest Minimalist Slim Wallet

For an ultra-slim front pocket wallet, Everest makes a great minimalist option constructed from elastic microfiber.

The flexible fabric comes in subdued colors like charcoal grey, navy and olive drab. It has an ingenious sliding design that expands lengthwise to accommodate 1-8 cards snugly.

When not filled to capacity, the wallet compresses down for comfortable lightweight carry. Your most used card stores in an external quick-draw slot for easy access.

As a backup minimalist wallet, I love the clever single-piece construction. There are no folds, seams or layers to wear out over time.

And the microfiber material has proven quite durable, despite some cards imprinting their numbers on the inner lining. For around $15 you can’t beat it for an emergency card holder. I’d recommend keeping one stashed in your bag for times when you need to travel light.

Patagonia Lightweight Travel Wallet

Patagonia is beloved for outdoor gear, but they also make excellent minimalist wallets like the Lightweight Travel Wallet.

It’s made from recycled polyester ripstop fabric, coated in durable water-repellent finish and stitch-reinforced for serious toughness.

Despite the rugged build, it remains flexible and compressible. The zippered outer pocket safely contains cards and cash, while the quick-access top slot holds your ID for flashing on-the-go.

As a frequent traveler, I really appreciate the blend of organization and simplicity in this wallet. The ripstop fabric sheds moisture and cleans up easily if stained – perfect for adventures. While not leather, the wallet still retains a nice slim profile when loaded up.

The only downside is accessing the zippered section frequently tends to wear it out over time. But at $29 for a sustainable travel wallet, it’s hard to complain!

Will Leather Goods Hudson Wallet

Oregon-based Will Leather Goods makes quality leather gear inspired by vintage Americana style. The Hudson wallet is constructed from full-grain vegetable tanned leather that comes in earthy tones like mocha and olive.

It has a simple bifold design opening to reveal 6 interior card slots and a lined cash pocket. The leather has a natural oil-pull up effect, developing a rich patina over time. And at 4 ounces, it’s lightweight enough for front pocket carry.

For a basic leather wallet under $60, you can’t go wrong with the Hudson. After daily use mine has remained remarkably slim with minimal stretching.

My only gripe is the unfinished leather interior can snag bills going in and out. But for an affordable heritage-inspired leather wallet made in the USA, I’m very impressed with the Hudson’s quality and value.

Lethnic Slim Wallet

Lethnic is an affordable men’s accessories brand that offers RFID-blocking tech on a budget. Their Slim Wallet features a handsome exterior of crazy horse leather, coming in colors like coffee, black and navy.

The interior is lined with proprietary RFID-shielding fabric to protect your cards from wireless scanners. Despite the layered construction, it remains impressively thin and only 4 ounces.

For my paranoid minimalist friends, the Lethnic Slim Wallet does a nice job balancing portability and security.

Fitted with only the essentials, its slender form carries comfortably in the front pocket. The leather and stitching also seem pretty durable so far. Cards do imprint their numbers on the leather over time, but that’s expected. For $20 or less, you can’t argue with the quality given the price.
